My artistic career started as a graphic designer 35 years ago. After a while I realized my dream and travelled to Florence in Italy where I studied painting at the Academia di Belle Arti.

Even in one of the world’s most beautiful cities the blue of the Mediterranean Sea never deserted my heart nor my painting.

As a surrealist artist I have always been loyal to my original ideas though my technique and style have changed over time.

In the early years my technique was Expressionist using very thick oil colours on canvas. Today, after a long journey, more than 200 paintings and several exhibitions I feel closer to the Japanese spirit; more so after an unforgettable visit of Kyoto.

Using my handwriting in traditional graphic design painting, I have been working on this exhibition for the last five years from my studio overlooking the harbor of Menton on the French Riviera.

The idea for this exhibition was born in 1997 whilst I lived in Monaco. At that time I was very impressed by the Classic Boat Week Monaco parade during the 700th anniversary .
